BREAKING: Bandits Kidnap Over 30 Travellers In Rafi, Niger State

Armed gunmen are said to have kidnapped approximately 30 travellers at Garun-Gabas in Niger State’s Rafi Local Government Council.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped on three separate vehicles on the Zungeru-Garin-Gabas highway on Wednesday afternoon.

They were going in an 18-seater bus and two other vehicles when they were ambushed by the attackers, according to NEWS DIRECT.

According to eyewitnesses, the bandits blocked the road and shot randomly into the air to terrify the locals into fleeing in different directions before whisking the passengers away to an unknown location.

After taking the travelers, the robbers in huge numbers rushed into the Kundu forest in Rafi to rustle cattle, according to a local who did not want his name publicized.

When contacted, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the state Police Public Relations Officer, promised to respond, but has yet to do so as of the time of posting this report.
