Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, disclosed on Friday that Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, is eyeing the position of secretary to the government of the federation should the party win the 2023 presidential election.
As we speak, some people have been awarded positions. Ayu desires to take over as SFG. During a press conference in Port Harcourt on Friday, Wike remarked, “These are things happening in the party that we can’t disclose in public.
In spite of the fact that no one was above the party, the governor claimed that those who left the party at the height of its crisis in 2014 or 2015 could not remove him from office.
He asserted that the main opposition party’s crisis went beyond what was being highlighted in the media.
He said the crisis in the main opposition party was more than what was being reported in the media and for the sake of peace, he won’t divulge critical information to the public.
Wike maintained that he won’t be defecting to any other party but he would ensure that justice was done and the chairmanship position moved to the South.
