Chelsea’s Defender, Rüdiger Apologises Over De Bruyne Injury

Antonio Rüdiger, a Chelsea centreback, has apologized for colliding with Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne in Saturday’s Champions League final, which forced the Belgian national off the field early and was replaced by Gabriel Jesus.

Rüdiger halted De Bruyne’s move towards goal in the second half of the game, but not without inflicting a significant facial injury on the 29-year-old.

Rüdiger, via Twitter, has said that it was “not intentional from me.”

“I’m really sorry for De Bruyne’s injury”, the defender said.

“I’ve already been in touch with Kevin personally and I really wish him a speedy recovery and hope we can see him back on the pitch very soon again.”
