Bandits Attack Another Ex-councillor, Kill Him In Zamfara

Hon. Farouq Hassan, a former councilor of Sabon Gida Ward, was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen suspected of being bandits just minutes after arriving at his home on Wednesday night.

The bandits stormed his house with sophisticated weapons in two vehicles, according to the DAILY POST, after trailing the 38-year-old lawmaker.

The attackers instructed Hassan to turn his back before shooting him twice in the head, according to a family source. In the incident, neither his family nor his neighbors were kidnapped.

Gunmen stormed the home of another former councilor, Babangida Damba, who was shot and his nursing wife and eight-month-old newborn boy taken less than 24 hours before.

At the time of writing this story, the Zamfara State Police Command had yet to reply to the incident since the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Mohammed Shehu, had not returned phone calls.
