Bandits Abduct Lecturer’s Wife, Two Daughters In Zamfara

On Friday, gunmen suspected of being bandits raided Mereri village in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, kidnapping the wife of Dr AbdulRazaq, a lecturer at the Federal College of Education (Technical) Gusau, as well as his two daughters, Maryam AbdulRazaq and Hafsat AbdulRazaq.

Many things, including money, were plundered in the Mareri village, which is located on the outskirts of the state capital, according to eyewitness testimony.

One of the lecturer’s neighbors, who requested anonymity for security reasons, told reporters that the bandits rushed the residence with sophisticated weapons and began shooting sporadically.

According to the source, some of them arrived barefoot and gained entry to the area via a forest that connects the Geba, Jajjayen, and Kwanar Mai communities in Gusau.

When contacted, Mohammad Shehu, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), stated an investigation is ongoing and that once validated, he will contact journalists for further information.
