ASUU Strike: Buhari Is Weak, His Appointees Ignored Him – Ganduje’s Former Aide, Yakasai

Former media aide to Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano State, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, has called President Muhammadu Buhari “weak.”

He made this statement after Buhari’s two-week deadline for ending the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike had passed.

Yakasai tweeted: “I’ve never seen a weak president like @MBuhari. He gives directives to his appointees and they ignore it without consequences.

“He gave 2 weeks ultimatum for ASUU strike to be resolved, nobody took him seriously & the time has elapsed. Shamefully embarrassing to say the least!”

Buhari, on July 19, directed the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, to resolve the prolonged strike and report back to him in two weeks’ time.

ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022, over the inability of the federal government to meet their demands.
