On Tuesday, Lionel Messi’s preparations to leave Argentina were put on wait after his private flight was detained due to a bomb scare.
On Monday, the 34-year-old returned to Rosario for a quick visit following Argentina’s Copa America victory at the Maracana, when an Angel di Maria strike secured the country’s first major trophy since 1993.
Messi was scheduled to fly to Miami, Florida, for a vacation with his family, but his flight was canceled when a man claimed to have hidden a bomb in his suitcase.
All aircraft were stopped when the airport in Islas Malvinas was evacuated and emergency protocols were implemented.
The problem was quickly handled, but the emergency caused a significant backlog of planes, including Messi’s, to depart the airport.
