Angry Youths Set Kano Private School On Fire Over Hanifa’s Murder

According to the Daily Nigerian, some enraged youths have set fire to Noble Kids School, Warshu Hospital Road, in Kawaji, Kano State, in retaliation for the kidnapping and murder of a five-year-old girl, Hanifa Abubakar.

Abdulmalik Tanko, the school’s owner, had previously kidnapped the young girl and, despite receiving a ransom, killed her.

Hanifa and a group of friends were returning from an Islamic session when a tricycle offered them a ride.

But, when the rest of the passengers got off the tricycle, the driver asked Hanifa to stay so he could give her a ride to her compound.

Rather of transporting Hanifa to her home, the driver whisked her away to an unidentified location, where our family was later contacted for ransom.

Tanko orchestrated Hanfia’s kidnapping and subsequent murder while she was on her way to Islamiyya School in December, according to SaharaReporters.

Tanko had demanded an N6 million ransom from the child’s parents, and he was apprehended while collecting a portion of the money.

He had failed to disclose the death of the victim.

He told journalists that he poisoned the girl with rat poison he bought for N100 when he was arrested at the Kano Police Command headquarters on Friday.

Tanko had previously admitted to killing the girl because she recognized him.

He claims that the abductor first took her to his wife, who refused to keep her.

“Now I’m taking her to the Tudunwada area.” He went on to say, “I laced her tea with rat poison.”

Meanwhile, there was a mild drama at the headquarters of the Kano State Police Command when Fatima Maina, mother of a slain five-year-old pupil, Hanfia Abubakar, charged at the proprietor who was arrested in connection with the death of the student.

On Friday, the suspects and the parents of the deceased child were both at the Kano police command headquarters.

The child’s parents were the ones who arrived first. Tanko and the other suspects were later apprehended by the police.

Fatima charged towards Tanko as soon as she saw him, slapping and punching him as she demanded to know why he had killed her daughter.

The drama continued for a while until the main suspect was taken away by police.
