Surulere LG officials forced me to pay N20,000 fine into a private account – Man
A resident of Lagos, Peter Okiye, has accused officials of Itire/Ikate LCDA of extorting of N20,000 for alleged wrong parking.
According to Mr Okiye, he had parked by a street to take a phone call when he was accosted and fined N25,000 which was later reduced to N20,000.
He added that he was forced to make a money transfer into a private Zenith bank account.
“Some officials of Surulere LCD arrested me this morning for packing by the roadside to take a phone call.
“They gave me a fine of N25,000.
“After a protracted argument, they reduced it to N20,000.
“I was forced to transfer N20,000.00 a private Zenith Bank Account as shown in the picture above….. Is this right???”
