Panic As Gunmen Storm Night Club, Gun Down Many People
Gunmen reportedly attacked a nightclub in Oba, Anambra, resulting in fatalities.
The incident took place at Porsche Nightclub in Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State. While details about the attackers remain unclear, it is reported that they targeted the club’s owner and encountered resistance from security personnel.
Chukwuemeka Ezefunamba, a source, stated, “As a result of the resistance, the gunmen started shooting sporadically, killing many people in the process. They also beheaded one of the security men who resisted them from taking the owner of the nightclub.”
Anambra State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, could not confirm the incident but assured an inquiry into the matter.
In a related development, Akwa Okuko, another nightclub owner and renowned witch doctor in the same community, had faced an attack months earlier. Okuko later admitted to voluntarily surrendering to prevent potential collateral damage had he resisted. Speculations circulated that he paid over N400 million to secure his release.
