2023 Election: Peter Obi Reacts As Obidients Shut Down Abuja [VIDEO]

Peter Obi, a leading candidate for president in 2023, said prayers for his supporters on Saturday as they gathered in Abuja.

The Labour Party’s standard bearer is the former governor of Anambra State (LP).

His supporters, often referred to as Obidients, blocked off several important Central Area thoroughfares, including those leading to the Federal Secretariat and others.

Numerous sites in the capital city of the country experienced bottlenecks as a result of the citizens’ mass walk.

Obi, who is now attending an event in Kano State, stated in a tweet that he was monitoring the march.

“From Kano, I am watching the Obidients gathered in Abuja and exercising their Constitutional rights to peaceful assembly.

“I salute you all. I appreciate you all. God bless you all and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, he wrote.

The supporters also gathered at the City Gate built about 30 years ago to commemorate the movement of the seat of power from Lagos.

The monument is the ceremonial entrance to the nation’s capital. Rallies for Obi are continuing across the country.

More is expected after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lifts the ban on political campaign next week.
