Arewa Peoples’ Forum, APF, a northern organisation, has accused Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State of orchestrating a scheme to help former President Goodluck Jonathan become the presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.
“According to the group, Bagudu has been working behind the scenes to finalize the ex-defection president’s to the party. Giving the ticket to the former president, it believes, will hurt the party’s unity and chances of winning at the polls.
In a statement signed in Kaduna by the organization’s chairman, Ishaku Ahmed, the group urged the party’s northern and other members to face the governor and save the party from a humiliating implosion.
The statement read: “It is high time the north and other members of the party interested in the continued existence of the APC as a united political entity rose to challenge Governor Atiku Bagudu over his plot to hand over the party’s ticket to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
